Zusammenfassung

Ob Gott Eigenschaften zugesprochen werden können oder nicht, diese Frage ist nicht nur ein Erbe sogenannter negativer Theologie, sondern ergibt sich auch aus den Grundlinien einer metaphysischen Eigenschaftstheorie: Wenn wir das Haben von Eigenschaften mit den normalen Mitteln einer Prädikatenlogik erster Stufe ausdrücken, so setzt die Aussage, dass einem Gegenstand a ein Prädikat F zukommt, sodass F(a), voraus, dass es zumindest möglicherweise einen anderen Gegenstand b gibt, auf den F ebenfalls zutrifft. Genau diese Voraussetzung ist aber im Kontext einer monotheistischen Gotteslehre nicht gegeben, sodass wir sehr grundsätzlich nach der Anwendbarkeit des Eigenschaftsbegriffs fragen müssen, weil Gott per definitionem einzigartig und inkommensurabel ist. Daher kann es zwischen Gott und einem endlichen Anderen schlechterdings keine Gemeinsamkeit geben.
