Zusammenfassung

Wissenschaftliche Gesetze sind wesentliche Bestandteile von wissenschaftlichen Erklärungen (s. Kap. 9.1) und wissenschaftlichen Theorien (s. Kap. 9.2). Bevor im nächsten Kapitel Erklärungen und Theorien besprochen werden, wird in diesem Kapitel der Frage nachgegangen, was ein wissenschaftliches Gesetz überhaupt ist. Wissenschaftliche Gesetze sind von Gesetzen im juristischen Sinn (z. B. von Gesetzen im Bürgerlichen Gesetzbuch) oder im moralischen Sinn (z. B. »Du sollst nicht töten «) zu unterscheiden.
