Der Schwerpunkt dieses Beitrags liegt bei der Entwicklung der (nationalen) Bevölkerungsprognose und der Umweltplanung, insbesondere bei der Entwicklung des dreigliedrigen Planungssystems in den Niederlanden im Laufe des 20. Jahrhunderts. Auch wird beleuchtet, welche Rolle die deutsche Besatzung der Niederlande spielte und welchen Einfluss die Nazi-Ideologie auf die Planung nahm.
