Abstract
Since the breakthrough of the Internet as virtual backbone for electronic commerce and similar applications, security is recognized as an elementary requirement. Before we step into this book we briefly want to discuss what security in the context of a more and more networked world means and why anyone, not only from the academic world, but also from industries, should pay attention to it.
