Abstract

In section D, maps are ordered in rows from north to south, and within each row, from east to west, starting with the map that is east of the Weddell Sea. In Table D.0-1 maps are listed in the order in that they appear in this atlas. A schematic representation of the relative location of all Atlas maps is given in Figure D.0-1. The proper geographic location of the Atlas maps and their overlaps with neighbouring maps can be inferred from the index maps in Figures C.2.3-1 to C.2.3-3. Hence Figure D.0-1 is best used for finding a map given by name in the scheme, and for identifying the names of neighbouring sheets. If the objective is to determine on which maps a given geographic location is covered, then Figures C.2.3-1 to C.2.3-3 are most useful.
