Abstract

ONCE UPON A TIME, there was a quantum state. He considered himself someone who was leading a purposeful life, because he knew that physicists around the world relied on him for doing their fancy calculations and experiments. And he helped them get along as best as he could, and this was something he did indeed extremely well, and he was proud of his role. Yet in his more introspective and philosophical moments, he couldn’t quite shake the feeling that he had been languishing in a sort of perennial identity crisis.
