Abstract
The globalisation of supply chains is posing challenges to multinational corporations in terms of the conformance of suppliers to environmental and social standards. A responsible corporate policy responds to those challenges by integrating sustainability standards and by implementing appropriate measures in the procurement and supplier development processes. The article demonstrates the elements of a sustainability management system in the automotive industry based on Volkswagen AG.
