Zusammenfassung

Das Neuroblastom ist der häufigste, maligne extrakranielle Tumor des Kindesalters. Es gehört zur Gruppe der embryonalen Tumoren mit entsprechender Zellmorphologie und einer starken Bevorzugung des frühen Kindesalters. Es entsteht aus den Neuroblasten des sympathischen Nervensystems, d. h. des Nebennierenmarks, des Grenzstranges und der sympathischen Paraganglien. Etwa 75% der Neuroblastome finden sich im Retroperitoneum (davon 50% ausgehend von den Nebennieren, 25% vom sympathischen Grenzstrang), 20% im Thorax, 3–4% im Becken und 1–2% im Hals. Das biologische Verhalten von Neuroblastomen ist sehr variabel mit hochmalignem aggressiven Wachstum bis zur Ausdifferenzierung in benigne Ganglioneurome oder bei sehr jungen Kindern auch spontanen Regressionen. Wichtige prognostische Faktoren sind dabei das Alter des Patienten, das Tumorstadium und molekulargenetische Marker.
