Zusammenfassung

Einen wesentlichen Anteil an der Effizienz des IVF-Verfahrens hat die hormonelle Stimulation mit dem Ziel der Gewinnung mehrerer entwicklungsfähiger Eizellen. Eine durchschnittliche Befruchtungsrate von 55–64% nach IVF und ICSI macht die Verfügbarkeit mehrerer Eizellen zur Voraussetzung, um regelhaft zumindest einen Embryo für die Übertragung in die Gebärmutter zur Verfügung zu haben.
