Abstract

2D implementation case is constructed as a sub-part of the Surface-To-Surface contact similar to NTS, STS and other strategies. It is more simple algorithm for understanding and implementation and can be recommended for the beginner to start with. Also some special algorithms such as continuous numerical integration algorithm introduced for Surface-To-Surface contact in Sect. 4.1.6 and update of history variables derived for the coupled anisotropic adhesion-friction model in Sections 6.3.5 and 6.3.6 are much easier to study for 2D case considered in this Section.
