Zusammenfassung

Die Infusionschemotherapie über die Leberarterie ist heute eine der am häufigsten angewandten Methoden im Bereich der regionalen Chemotherapie. Insbesondere bei der Behandlung von Lebermetastasen von kolorektalen Karzinomen war diese Methode bis zur Etablierung der neuesten Standardtherapie – die systemische Chemotherapie in Kombination mit Irinotecan oder Oxaliplatin – als wirksamste Behandlungsmethode anerkannt. Die meisten randomisierten Studien zum Vergleich der Infusionschemotherapie über die Leberarterie mit der systemischen Chemotherapie konnten jedoch keinen Vorteil in Bezug auf eine Verlängerung des Überlebens belegen [1–12], wobei sich im Bereich der systemischen Chemotherapie die wirksamen systemischen Chemotherapieschemata wie FOLFOX und FOLFIRI als Standard etabliert haben. Infolgedessen spielt die Infusionschemotherapie über die Leberarterie zum jetzigen Zeitpunkt nur noch eine geringe Rolle und wird lediglich unter sehr restriktiven Bedingungen eingesetzt.
