Abstract

The idea of application of mathematical models of interpenetrating continua for description of mechanical processes has a 150-year history. The first papers on the theory of a mixture including the balance equations and the corresponding thermodynamic restrictions, belong to A. Fick [120] and J. Stefan [261].
