Abstract
Dermal melanocytoses are peculiar melanocytic lesions characterized by a bluish discoloration of large portions of the skin. The different entities are named for the areas of the body they affect. Histologically, all feature a sparse melanocytic infi ltrate among undisturbed collagen fi bers. Melanocytes are elongated with thin, pigmented dendrites. This group of lesions is a variation on the theme of blue nevus, linked by common initiating mutations.
