Abstract

An OR/MS based Decision Support System can be made intelligent by

  1. (1)

providing the DSS components, such as modeling component, data base component, dialogue component, (following Sprague-Carlson DSS paradigm), with some kind of intelligence or knowledge base to enhance their overall capabilities, — component level — or

  2. (2)

incorporating an Expert System into the Decision Support System to integrate a heuristic expert system with an algorithmic DSS — system level.
