Zusammenfassung

Während die Pathomechanismen allergischer Atemwegserkrankungen (wie z. B. Heuschnupfen, allergisches Asthma bronchiale) weitgehend geklärt sind, ist die Rolle allergischer Reaktionen in der Auslösung und Unterhaltung des atopischen Ekzems nach wie vor umstritten. Wie in einer Art Wellenbewegung wechseln immunologische Konzepte einer „Allergie“ mit Überlegungen über allgemeine „Reaktivitäts- oder Hautfunktionsstörungen“ als aktuell diskutierte Hypothesen ab [1, 6, 16, 20, 22, 31, 36, 43, 45].
