Zusammenfassung
Seit der Jahrhundertwende haben sich Lebenserwartung und Altersstruktur der Bevölkerung in der Bundesrepublik Deutschland erheblich gewandelt. Als Folge hiervon gewinnt auch die anästhesiologische Betreuung älterer Menschen immer mehr an Bedeutung. Diese Patientengruppe ist u. a. durch eine hohe Inzidenz von Gefäßerkrankungen, worunter auch die koronare Herzkrankheit (KHK) fällt, gekennzeichnet. Zweifelsohne besitzen Patienten mit manifester KHK ein höheres perioperatives Infarktrisiko.
