Zusammenfassung
Der Beitrag stellt zunächst die unterschiedlichen Wachstums-und Produktivitätsentwicklungen dar und prüft kritisch einige bekannte Thesen zu diesem Thema. Dabei wird auch etwas ausführlicher auf die Vermutung eingegangen, daß Globalisierung und New Economy die Volatilität der US-Wirtschaft reduziert hätten.
