Abstract
Chater 9 started from the assumption that heterogeneity of agents and their capability to develop are of major importance to understand patterns of mobility. The preceding have already given us some hints on the questions which may be the sources of heterogeneity of agents that are relevant and which are their distinctive capabilities and roles. In chapter 3 we have called these capabilities for mobility “motility”.
