Zusammenfassung

Talgdrüsen bei Menschen und Tieren sind androgenabhängige Strukturen. Die Sebozytenaktivität unterliegt einer Androgenstimulation. Ohne Androgene würde es keine Akne geben. Aus der Geschichte ist bekannt, daß Eunuchen eine sehr glatte Haut ohne Spuren einer Akne haben. Überraschend kam die Erkenntnis, daß das Medikament Isotretinoin zu einem nahezu vollständigen Sistieren der Sebumproduktion führt, wenn auch nicht über den klassischen Stoffwechselweg der Antiandrogene.
