Zusammenfassung

Das Gehirnschnittmodell vermittelt durch ineinandergesteckte Abbildungen von Gehirnschnitten eine plastische Vorstellung von einer rechten Gehirnhälfte und dem linken Seitenventrikel. Dazu dienen zwei Frontal-, ein Sagittal- sowie ein Horizontalschnitt. Den Gehirnstamm veranschaulichen der durch zwei Teile dargestellte Nucleus lentiformis und ein Längsschnitt durch den Nucleus caudatus. Den Faserverlauf der inneren Kapsel zeigt ein Querschnitt durch den Gyrus precentralis. Zwei eigene Bauteile stellen die Riechbahn und die Sehbahn dar. Acht Querschnitte durch die Medulla spinalis und Medulla oblongata und das Mesencephalon ergänzen das Modell. Ferner zeigt die Rückansicht das Rautenhirn und die Vierhügelplatte von dorsal, wobei das abgetragene Kleinhirn den Blick in den IV. Ventrikel freigibt. Eine Figur linker Seitenventrikel ergänzt das Modell.

Abstract

This sectional model of the human brain is constructed by assembling picture cut-outs of brain sections, depicting the right half of the human brain. It consists of two frontal sections, one sagittal section and one transverse section. The brain stem is represented by the lentiform nucleus, which is given in two sections, and a longitudinal section of the caudate nucleus. A cross-section through the precentral gyrus serves to show the direction of the fibres of the internal capsule. Another two cut-outs illustrate the location of the olfactory and visual tracts. The model is completed by another eight transverse sections of the medulla oblongata and the mesencephalon. The model also gives a dorsal view of the rhombencephalon and the lamina quandrigemina. By removing the cerebellum it is possible to get a glimpse into the fourth ventricle. A representation of the left lateral ventricle completes the model.
