Zusammenfassung
Mit dem Wandel der Altersstruktur ist verständlicherweise auch der Wunsch auf eine aktive Lebensgestaltung im Alter gewachsen. Gleichzeitig expandiert die Anzahl der Prothesenimplantationen und die Frage der sportlichen Belastbarkeit des Endoprothesenträgers stellt sich immer häufiger. Im Vergleich zur Hüft- und Knieendoprothetik handelt es sich beim Gelenkersatz der Schulter um ein etwa 15 Jahre jüngeres Patientengut. Nach allgemein verbreiteter Meinung wird die Sportfähigkeit mit Schulterprothese mit großer Zurückhaltung betrachtet [7, 12]. Als Hauptprobleme stehen die biomechanisch-kinematischen Anforderungen im Bereich der Schulter sowie die Verankerung der Prothesenkomponenten im Knochenlager im Vordergrund. Daneben wird als wichtigste Komplikation die Instabilität nach Schulterarthoplastik diskutiert [1, 8].
