Zusammenfassung

Der Begriff „Immunosuppression“ erscheint zunächst paradox. Warum sollte man die für die mikrobielle Abwehr unerläßliche Immunoantwort dämpfen wollen. Dazu werden Medikamente gebraucht, welche in der Regel sehr relevante direkte oder indirekte Nebenwirkungen verursachen. Es ist deshalb begreiflich, daß die Entwicklung einer immunosuppressiven Therapie auf großen Widerstand gestoßen ist.
