Diagnosis of Supratentorial Tumors with Computerized Tomography

  • Chapter
Cranial Computerized Tomography

Abstract

In combined study by CT centers in Berlin, Mainz, and Munich 683 supratentorial brain tumors were investigated. Suprasellar tumors will not be discussed here. Sections of the brain were examined parallel to the orbito-meatal line according to AMBROSE (1973). Inselected cases intermediary slices and additional high sections were examined. If there was no contraindication the examination was continued after i.v. injection of contrast media with the consent of the patient. The applied dose was 1 ml of a 60% water-soluble contrast medium per kg body weight.
