Abstract
The isotypic crystal structures of three smectogenic p-n-alkoxybenzoic acids having eight, nine and ten carbon atoms in the alkyl chain are reported together with the crystal structure of a second modification of p-n-octoxybenzoic acid. The isotypic forms are identical in type to that previously reported for p-n-heptoxybenzoic acid (Bryan, Miller, & Shen, Abstr. Amer. Crystallogr. Assoc., 5, 37 (1977)).
