Zusammenfassung
Mit sehr schnellen Großrechenanlagen lassen sich neue Kategorien von wissenschaftlichen Problemen behandeln. Die Simulationen erreichen einen hohen Grad an Wirklichkeitsnähe. Drei Beispiele aus der Astrophysik werden besprochen: Stern — explosionen (Supernovae), Galaktische Düsenströmungen, Zusammenstöße von Galaxien.
Summary
Very fast computers make the treatment of new scientific problems possible. Simulations acheive a high degree of realism. We discuss three examples from astrophysics: Stellar explosions (Supernovae), galactic jets, collisions of galaxies.
