Zusammenfassung

Die Diagnose einer Colitis ulcerosa läßt sich nicht nur durch das Recto- skop und die Histologie stellen. Wenn bei einem akuten Schub durch diese beiden Methoden die Verdachtsdiagnose einer Cohtis ulcerosa geäußert wird, ist die Behandlung der akuten Phase unter dieser Diagnose erlaubt. Sobald die akuten Symptome beherrscht sind, muß jedoch die Diagnose „Colitis ulcerosa” erhärtet werden. Dies bedeutet, daß der gesamte Magen-Darm-Trakt untersucht wird. Ist dies geschehen und die Diagnose gesichert, gelten zu ihrer Behandlung eindeutige Regeln.
