Zusammenfassung

Die Polyneuropathie im Rahmen des Morbus Refsum (Refsum 1945,1946) gehört zu den Leitsymptomen dieser Krankheit. Klinisch handelt es sich um eine distalund beinbetonte sensomotorische Polyneuropathie mit symmetrischer Verteilung. Der histopathologische Befund am peripheren Nerven entspricht einer hypertrophen Neuropathie mit Bildung von Zwiebelschalenstrukturen, endoneuraler Fibrose, segmentaler Demyelinisierung und einzelnen Waller-Degenerationen (Cammermeyer 1975; Fardeau u. Engel 1969; Lenz et al. 1979).
