Zusammenfassung

Eine akute obere Gastrointestinalblutung (AOGB) bedeutet im Verlauf der Intensivbehandlung eine zusätzliche ernste Bedrohung für den Patienten, insbesondere wenn diese Blutung zu größeren Bluttransfusionen oder operativen Eingriffen zwingt. Seit Durchführung einer konsequenten Prophylaxe haben sich Anzahl und Schwere dieser Begleitkomplikation deutlich vermindert [23, 37].
