Abstract
In recent years large amounts of data have accumulated on CSF dynamics in benign intracranial hypertension (BIH) and normal pressure hydrocephalus (NPH), yet we still have no clear understanding of the mechanisms involved in the pathogenesis of either condition. Both disorders are attributed by many to obstruction of CSF outflow at the arachnoid villi, but obviously these very different disorders cannot possibly share the same cause.
