Abstract
This think-piece is intended simply as an economist’s critical reflexion, the purpose of which is to point out questions and problems for which no adequate answers are being provided by the traditional political, health and economic disciplines.
Manfred A. Max-Neef is a Chilean Economist, Founder and Managing Director of the Development Alternatives Centre — CEPAUR. For his practical and theoretical contributions to a New Economics, he was awarded the Alternative Nobel Prize in 1983.
