Abstract

I first met Herbert Fröhlich at conferences on low temperature physics almost half a century ago. I am happy to remember these encounters on the occasion of his 80th birthday with a contribution on entropy and the Nernst Heat Theorem. This choice gives me also the opportunity to express my indebtedness to Franz Simon, later Sir Francis, who gave me at about the same time an insider’s introduction to these ideas.
