Zusammenfassung

In den letzten Jahren hat sich in den Möglichkeiten der maschinellen Beatmungstherapie eine enorme Entwicklung vollzogen, die v. a. durch die technische Entwicklung der entsprechenden Beatmungsgeräte bedingt war. Die Steuerung moderner Beatmungsgeräte durch Mikroprozessoren ermöglicht verschiedene Beatmungsformen als Softwarefunktionen zu programmieren und zu modifizieren. Zusammen mit der Weiterentwicklung schnell reagierender Ventilsysteme hat dies zu einer breiten Palette an Beatmungsformen geführt, die für den klinischen Gebrauch zur Verfügung stehen.
