Abstract

After having discussed the theoretical perspectives used in infrastructure impact research, we now turn to a survey of results of empirical studies. For this purpose we begin with a short review of research methods used. A wide variety of methods for studying infrastructure impacts exists. It is important to pay special attention to these methods, because the results of infrastructure impact research depend to some extent on the types of methods used. We give a short review of methods in section 4.2, where both modelling and non-modelling approaches are distinguished.
