Zusammenfassung

Die Empfehlungen, Calcium-Antagonisten für die Sekundärprophylaxe der Atherogenese anzuwenden, ergaben sich vor allem aus Tierexperimenten und Untersuchungen an Zellkulturen. Mit den experimentellen Methoden gelingt es zugleich, Einblicke in Mechanismen zu erhalten, welche den Prozessen zugrundeliegen, durch die die Medikamente Einfluß auf das Wachstum der Plaques haben.
