Eine einfache und akzeptierte Definition der Labordiagnose einer Verbrauchskoagulopathie lautet: „Die Labordiagnose einer Verbrauchskoagulopathie wird aus der Verminderung der Thrombozyten und des Fibrinogens, einer Verlängerung der Prothrombinzeit und hämorrhagischen oder thrombotischen Zeichen gestellt [1].
