Abstract
Classification of any disease has two functions. The first is to answer the three questions “What is wrong?” “What is going to happen?” and “What can be done?” The second is to provide a lingua franca among those caring for the patients. No classification system is perfect, and any one simply reflects the state of the art at the time that it is promulgated.
