Zusammenfassung

Vom immunologischen Standpunkt aus betrachtet muß eine Schwangerschaft als der erfolgreiche Verlauf einer Allotransplantation angesehen werden, bei der der Mutter als immunkompetenter Organismus ein genetisch zumindest zur Hälfte differenter Organismus transplantiert wird. Es ist dabei ein bislang weitgehend ungeklärtes Phänomen, warum der histoinkompatible Fet typischerweise keine Abstoßungsreaktion induziert. Verschiedene Theorien und experimentelle Befunde liegen zur Erklärung vor, aber alle bleiben lückenhaft oder sind wieder verworfen worden.
