Zusammenfassung

Das Rektumkarzinom macht weltweit 6% aller malignen Tumoren des Menschen aus [12]. Es gehört damit zu den häfigen Neoplasien. Bei 50–80% aller Patienten ist eine kurative Behandlung bei Diagnosestellung möglich. Im eigenen Krankengut von 1976–1986 betrugen die 5- und 10-Jahres-Überlebenszeiten ohne Alterskorrektur und unabhängig yom Tumorstadium 51,9% und 41,8 %. Neunundneunzig Prozent aller Karzinome des Rektums sind Adenokarzinome.
