An einem malignen Melanom der Haut erkranken in der Bundesrepublik Deutschland ungefähr 8 bis 12 von 100000 Einwohnern jährlich. Allein von 1970 bis 1984 hat sich die Zahl der Neuerkrankungsrate fast verfünffacht [7].
