New Interpretation of Diffusion and Relaxation Processes in Amorphous Materials

Abstract

The temperature dependence of relaxation rate peaks was found to be asymmetric in amorphous metals. This anomaly will be explained by the special features of hydrogen diffusion in amorphous materials. The main feature of this diffusion is the asymmetric lognormal distribution of the time spent between elementary diffusional jumps. This diffusion presents interesting low-dimensional properties.
