Abstract

A gold film was vacuum deposited on air-cleaved mica at an oblique angle, producing thus a sample with anisotropic structure. The anisotropic dispersive behavior was analyzed using the attenuated total reflection (ATR) technique for different orientations of the sample, and its surface structure was obtained by tunneling electron microscopy (STM).
