Wind-Blasted Erratics in Southern Sweden

  • Chapter
Jungquartäre Landschaftsräume

Zusammenfassung

During the déglaciation (Weichsel), southern Sweden was influenced by a periglacial climate, which was strengthened in the Older and Younger Dryas. Permafrost existed in vast areas as proved by fossil polygon patterns (Svensson 1964, 1973) and icewedge casts (Johnsson 1956, 1959, 1962), features that indicate a high arctic temperature.
