Zusammenfassung

Die psychoanalytische Einzelpsychotherapie (1–2 Wochenstunden bei 50minütiger Dauer im Sitzen über einen Zeitraum von mehreren Monaten bis zu 2 Jahren) gilt nach derzeitigem Erfahrungsstand für die 50- bis 70-/75jährigen neurotisch oder Psychoreaktiv Erkrankten als die entscheidende Behandlungsmöglichkeit, der gegenüber bisher Langzeitpsychoanalysen und Fokal- bzw. Kurzpsychotherapien weitgehend zurücktreten. Die Kurzzeitpsychotherapien wurden eher bei Patienten jenseits des 60./70. Lebensjahres durchgeführt. Dazu dokumentieren die bisher nur vereinzelt vor-liegenden Berichte über Langzeitpsychoanalysen (3–4 Wochenstunden von SOminütiger Dauer im Liegen über mehrere Jahre) eher die Behandlung von 50- bis 60jährigen, noch seltener die über 60jähriger.
