Überblick

Durch die Replikation von Dateien kann die Verfügbarkeit und in eingeschranktem Maße die Leistung eines verteilten Dateisystems erhöht werden. Aufwendige Synchronisationsverfahren und ein erhöhter Aufwand während des Mehrkopien-Schreibzugriffs setzen einem hohen Repli-kationsgrad allerdings Schranken. Es ist daher sinnvoll, den Replikationsgrad nicht statisch festzulegen, sondern ihn dynamisch anzupassen. In dieser Arbeit wird eine Methode vorgestellt, bei der die einzelnen Rechner autonom über den Grad der Replikation entscheiden. Ferner werden die notwendigen Algorithmen erlautert und deren Korrektheit gezeigt.
