Zusammenfassung
Zu den transfusionsmedizinisch relevanten Retroviren gehören das humane Immundefizienz-Virus (HIV-1, HIV-2) und das HTLV-I (human T-lymphotropic virus) [1]. Beide, das HIV-1 und HIV-2, sind Auslöser des erworbenen Immundefekt-Syndroms (Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome = AIDS). Das HTLV-I ist der mutmaßliche Auslöser der T-Zell-Leukämie des Erwachsenen (ATLL), der tropisch spastischen Paraparese (TSPP) und der HTLV-I-assoziierten Myelopathie (HAM) (Tabelle 1 und Tabelle 2).
