Zusammenfassung

Das Schilddrüsenkarzinom ist bekanntlich eine seltene Erkrankung, die — weltweit — bei Frauen etwa 3 mal häufiger als bei Männern auftritt. Da die höchste Inzidenz bei Frauen während der reproduktionsfähigen Phase zu finden ist und eine ähnliche Geschlechtsrelation auch für gutartige Schilddrüsentumoren beobachtet wird, bringt man dies mit hormonellen Faktoren in Zusammenhang (Ron u. Modan 1982).
