A Superradiant Laser

Abstract

We discuss stationary superradiance from a laser with N identical three-level atoms. Cooperative radiation is made possible by a cavity supporting two modes, each in resonance with an atomic transition. For large N, substantial squeezing results even in the presence of pump fluctuations and spontaneous emission.
