Zusammenfassung

Corner studierte Medizin an der John Hopkins Medical School in Baltimore. Seine anatomische Ausbildung erhielt er an der University of California und an der Johns Hopkins. Er wurde 1924 Professor der Anatomie an der University of Rochester. Von 1940 bis 1955 war er Direktor des Department of Embryology, Carnegie Institution of Washington, Baltimore, von 1956–1960 Historian at the Rockefeller Institute in New York und danach Executive Officer of the American Philosophical Society in Philadelphia. Diese Funktion übte er bis zum Alter von 88 Jahren aus.
