Abstract

As new class of “mycorrhizal” interactions the “lycoperdioid mycothallus interaction” (Schmid and Oberwinkler 1993) is proposed and studied in detail. It is characterized by aseptate, intracellularly regularly coiled, partly swollen hyphae, forming vesicles but no arbuscles and is formed within the gametophyte of Lycopodium clavatum. Intercellular hyphae may branch, resembling the hyphal behaviour of a Hartig net
