Summary

More observational facts have become known in connection with the Maunder minimum, i.e. the time of weak solar activity dating between 1645 and 1720. It is thus worth noting that, within the solar-type dynamos dynamos developed so far, there exist models which reveal properties that help in our understanding of the weak intensity, such as the related change of the pattern of the butterfly diagram and the increase of the cosmic ray intensity.
